Welcome Members to our November 10th GM Retirees Meeting, one day before Remembrance Day. We have 0ne of our favourite speakers for this meeting – renowned historian and author Ted Barris. Ted has many interesting stories about our Canadian Armed Forces. I am sure it will be a great and informative meeting.
Ted will likely have some of his wonderful books for sale at the meeting. His newest book is on the Battle of Britain – during the Second World War.
It should be a wonderful and informative meeting – come early – meet with old work mates and enjoy the day at our new location – Branch 43 Legion on Simcoe Street South.
Joe Wrubel
In-House Chair
Note: The attendance draw for the November meeting will be 50/50. Half the cash prize will go to the winner, and the other half will be donated to the Legion Poppy Fund for Remembrance Day.

Join fellow GM retirees on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (Sept-Dec & March-May) at the Royal Canadian Legion (471 Simcoe St South, Oshawa) for coffee, friendship, and presentations. June features our Vic Pratt Golf Tournament (no meetings in Jan, Feb, July, or Aug).
It was another great turnout for the picnic again this year. We had a total of 112 RSVPs this year and we were pretty close to that at meal time. Thank you for the RSVPs so we could gauge the number of meals. The Legion Auxiliary did a great job of meal preparation and table service, including coffee and tea. It was an enjoyable meal for all.
Congratulations to all participants and winning teams in our annual Vic Pratt Memorial Golf Tournament! Featuring a historic 11th tournament win for Paul McIntyre alongside his two grandsons, natural eagles, and fantastic photo memories.
